Every word search on Word Search Battle can be printed. Pick a topic, pick a difficulty, and you get a clean black-and-white sheet with the grid, the word list and a title, ready for a printer or a PDF reader. There are more than 140 topics, three sizes of every one, and no account, app or fee.

What is on every sheet
- The letter grid, sized for a Letter or A4 page.
- The word list under the grid, so nobody needs a screen while solving.
- A title with the topic and the level, so a stack of sheets stays sorted.
- Words run forward and backward, across, down and diagonally.
Each sheet is also available as an image, so you can drop it into a worksheet or a slide.
Three difficulties

Every topic has all three, so one theme can serve a whole family or a mixed class.
How to print one
- Open a topic’s printable page, for example the pets word search.
- Choose Hard, Medium or Easy.
- Click Print to send it straight to your printer, or Download PDF to save it.
Want a different puzzle on the same theme? Press Generate new puzzle. You get a new grid with a new selection of words from that topic, as many times as you like. That is how one topic becomes a week of morning work.

For teachers and parents
The puzzles are free for personal and classroom use. Print as many copies as you need. A few ideas that work:
- Print the easy and hard sheets of the same topic and hand them out by reading level. The word lists overlap, so the class can still talk about the same words.
- Use a topic’s word list as the spelling list for the week, then hand out the puzzle on Friday.
- Laminate a sheet and use a dry-erase marker for a puzzle that lasts a term.
- Put a holiday puzzle on the table as the quiet activity while the rest of the party arrives.
Solving on paper
Circle or highlight rather than crossing out, so the grid stays readable. Scan for unusual letters first, such as Q, X, Z and J, because they narrow the search fast. Look for double letters. Cross words off the list as you find them. There is more in our word search tips.
